When does The Mandalorian season 3 air?
Season 3 of The Mandalorian will be released on Disney+ on March 1, 2023. As usual, we are entitled to one episode per week.
How many episodes will there be?
The first two seasons of The Mandalorian were important eight episodes each, and this will be the case for this season 3 as well. At the moment it is not yet known how many seasons the series will have in total, but a season 4 is already in production and could arrive as early as 2024. In terms of arcs, it works and therefore it can continue in duration without too much worry. Jon Favreau, the showrunner, even admitted in an interview with Variety that it wasn’t impossible that one of Mando’s adventures takes place in the future in the form of a movie.
Who will be in the cast?
Pedro Pascal will of course be back in the lead. We also see Katee Sackhoff in Bo-Katan and Giancarlo Esposito in the shoes of the terrible Moff Gideon. Carl Weather, a series regular since the very first episode, will also be present.
One thing is certain: Gina Carano, the interpreter of Cara Dune, will not be there. The actress was kicked out of the series after controversial views on Twitter.
And Grogu in all this? Well…you’ll have to check out The Book of Boba Fett to find out.
Finally, a nice little detail. The character of Babu Frik from Star Wars Episode IX will make an appearance.
What will be the story of this season 3?
The Mandalorian season 3 will focus on the fate of Mandalore. This one was destroyed by the Empire and is nothing more than a pile of ashes. Yet the Mandalorians are still here, ready to claim their legacy. The latter revolves around the dark saber, currently held by our hero. Here’s the synopsis released by Disney:
“The Mandalorian’s journeys within the Star Wars universe continue. The once lonely bounty hunter Din Djarin has found Grogu. Meanwhile, the New Republic strives to lead the galaxy away from its dark past. The Mandalorian’s path will cross paths with old allies, as well as new foes as he and Grogu continue their journey side by side. »
At the end of Season 2 of The Mandalorian, Luke Skywalker restores Grogu to train him. The one we still like to call Baby Yoda eventually chooses to return to his adoptive father. We saw this story in The Book of Boba Fett series. For his part, Din Djarin was expelled from his clan for taking off his helmet. The only way to make amends is to return to Mandalore, which we got a glimpse of in the latest trailer.

Ahsoka Anakin’s Padawan, a character introduced in The Clone Wars, quickly became a fan favorite, so much so that she returned in Rebels. She first appeared in live action in The Mandalorian Season 2 as Rosario Dawson. Ahsoka will soon get the rights to her own series. We hope it will continue the story that was left at the end of Rebels.
