Released on February 15, a week ago now, the PC version of Returnal is struggling to win over players playing on this platform. With a peak of 6,691 concurrent players on Steam, it’s the second first-party title from Sony to be completely ignored by the PC community, with Sackboy A big Adventure and its painful 610 concurrent players (the peak that was also registered ). We are far from the numbers of other games like 2018’s God of War with its 74,000 players, Marvel’s Spider-Man and its 66,000 connections, Horizon Zero Dawn and its 56,000 people connected at the same time, and Days Gone with its 28,000 registered players. The lack of hype around Returnal isn’t blamed on the game, as major licenses like Uncharted have also crashed on PC, proving that not all PlayStation exclusives have the same success on any other medium. We recall that Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection had amassed a peak of 10,851 concurrent players at the time of its release. Like what success is not always assured, not even being mentioned by Nathan Drake…
