Xiaomi has announced the release in France of a new connected watch with a very elegant look and wireless headphones with active noise cancellation.
As the Mobile World Congress slowly opens its doors in Barcelona, Xiaomi took the lead this Sunday in unveiling its new range of smartphones, the Xiaomi 13, 13 Pro and 13 Lite. As often, the Chinese manufacturer took advantage of this launch to accompany its new smartphones with various accessories by launching new wireless headphones and a connected watch, the Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro and the Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro.
In fact, these are two products that were already launched in China last summer, at the same time as the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2. A rather disappointing choice from Xiaomi, since the manufacturer had meanwhile launched a new watch in China, the Xiaomi Watch S2. It will therefore probably be necessary to wait for this new product, launched in China in December, to arrive below our latitudes.
An elegant watch
Nevertheless, the Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro remains a very interesting watch, incorporating most of the features of the classic Xiaomi Watch S1. We find a very similar sober design with a silver case and a brown leather strap – or in a sporty version with a black case and a black rubber strap. The watch also has two buttons on the right side: a crown-shaped one at the top and an elongated one at the bottom. The watch benefits from a 1.47 inch AMOLED screen and the RTOS operating system. It is capable of measuring step count, heart rate or SpO2, like the Watch S1. Xiaomi also indicates that its watch benefits from a two-week autonomy, speakers and a microphone for calling.
In China, the manufacturer had indicated that its Watch S1 Pro could benefit from geolocation tracking thanks to a GNSS GPS chip. However, if the manufacturer does not confirm this information for the European launch, it is a safe bet that the French model will also benefit from this feature dear to athletes.
Active noise canceling headphones
On the side of the Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro, we are entitled to bar-sized in-ear wireless headphones with active noise cancellation. In particular, the headphones benefit from the LDAC codec for transferring music via Bluetooth and spatial audio with head tracking. As for active noise cancellation, Xiaomi communicates about noise cancellation up to a level of 48 dB. However, as always, these data should be taken with a grain of salt as they do not reflect the level of ambient noise reduction across the entire sound spectrum.
The Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro are already available for a price of 249.99 euros in two colors: gold or black. For its part, the Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro is shown in silver or black at a price of 299.99 euros. The two novelties from Xiaomi will be on sale from Wednesday 8 March.
